Our vision

A unified, empowered and integrated Luo community in Europe.

More than a welfare fund. A community infrastructure.

Learn how the Association is organised, what is happening in the community, and how to take part.

A community that feels like home, wherever life takes us.

ONAGI exists to strengthen belonging, welfare and opportunity for Luos in Europe. We create space to support one another, preserve our heritage, navigate life in our European home and build a stronger community together.

Our constitution places mutual support, integration, cooperation and charitable action at the heart of the Association. That gives us a simple test for everything we do: does it strengthen people and community?

Built around real community needs.

Welfare is part of our foundation, but ONAGI is broader than a welfare fund. It is a platform for connection, culture, integration and collective progress.

Welfare that shows up

A dependable support network for members, including structured bereavement assistance when families need their community most.

Belonging in Europe

Helping members settle, connect and thrive in their European home while staying rooted in Luo identity and community.

Culture with a future

Preserving and celebrating Luo heritage in ways that speak to our children, our diaspora and the generations still to come.

One community, many voices

Creating a trusted forum for dialogue, cooperation and collective action across the regions where our members live.

Heritage and integration are not opposites.

Our ambition is to help members feel confident in both worlds: connected to the language, values and traditions that shaped us, while participating fully in Finnish and wider European society.

Integration & guidance Mutual support Cross-cultural connection

Community works best when accountability is visible.

ONAGI’s constitution sets out democratic elections, member voting, financial controls, access to legitimate Association information and a formal conflict-resolution process. These are not back-office details; they are part of how trust is built.

Democratic governance

Elected officials, member participation and transparent decision-making.

Financial accountability

Dual controls, signatory oversight, reporting, reconciliation and audit readiness.

Fair process

Defined grievance, conflict-resolution and conduct processes grounded in fairness.

Our constitutionThe framework behind our rights, responsibilities and shared standards.

  • Responsible stewardship of member funds
  • Fairness, neutrality and due process
  • Respectful communication and confidentiality
